The ban finally takes place after the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology held a press conference to announce it. The shocking news shook the entire Indian PUBG Mobile community. One of the first pro players to step up and react to the ban is TSM Entity Ghatak. He posted a series of tweets, both expressing the major letdown and encourage the PUBG Mobile gamers to stay strong. Yesterday, Ghatak tagged the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, requesting for an opportunity to play in an event.

If you’re a veteran PUBG Mobile fan, you may know what event he’s talking about. PUBG Mobile announced its “New Era” update, bringing tons of new changes to the graphics, UI, and most importantly, the PUBG Mobile Global Championship Season Zero. It’s the combination of PUBG MOBILE World League (PMWL) and World Championship with a grand prize pool of 14.8 crore Rupees. This is the biggest Esports tournament in 2020, and it would be a total shame if Indian talents are not allowed to compete.

As of the reason for the ban of PUBG Mobile and 117 other Chinese mobile applications, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology claims that they pose a great threat to the country’s sovereignty. It announces numerous complaints from multiple sources reporting the misuse of some mobile apps. More specifically, they allegedly steal and surreptitiously transmit users’ data in an unauthorized manner to servers located outside of India.

PUBG Mobile was also banned in Pakistan but later unbanned, so there is nothing to weep about the situation. Sid also believed that the Prime Minister knew how many people’s livelihoods relied on PUBG Mobile. Therefore, if he made such a decision, there must have been a reason for it.

If you’re a newbie player who has just entered the world of PUBG, there are some common mistakes in PUBG Mobile you should know to avoid!]]>

More than two years after being launched, PUBG Mobile has become one of the most popular battle royale games in the world with more and more players joining the bandwagon. While there are a lot of pros who mastered the game, there are also many beginners whose journeys have just started.

If you’re a newbie player who has just entered the world of PUBG, there will be a lot of things to learn if you want to make it big. In fact, there are some common mistakes in PUBG Mobile that even experienced players might forget.

Camouflage

most common mistakes in PUBG Mobile
5 most common mistakes in PUBG Mobile: Camouflaging is the first thing you need to learn when it comes to a battle

Being the first one to be spotted and shot is what newbies will experience in their very first battles. While you put all effort in picking the best gun and ammo, you might have forgotten the most critical thing when it comes to any battle: camouflage. Camouflaging is one of the crucial factors which take you one step closer to the Chicken Dinner.

Apart from trying to stay low to get out of your enemy's sight, select the outfit which matches the map you picked. For example a dark one for Sanhok and Angle of a brown one for Maramar. Meanwhile, a match in Vikendi will be easier if you put in a white outfit.

Seek the safe-zone

most common mistakes in PUBG Mobile
Always look for the blue zone while being on a match

Once jumping off the plane, you will be blown away with the endless looting process. However, a pro would also have a car backed-up on the ground in case he cannot collect enough loot and visit houses in time. In addition to that, do not forget to put an eye on the map as well as the time.

Once you get closer to the blue zone, call your team to get in the car and run. Picking a fight while your health is on low has never been a smart move.

Pick the Marksman

most common mistakes in PUBG Mobile
Most common mistakes in PUBG Mobile: Forgetting the important of the marksman

If you don’t want your team to mess up due to bad communication and misunderstanding, pick the marksman who is in charge of marking locations on the map so the others can follow. Multiple pins can lead to unexpected confusion and being defeated is just a matter of time.

Don’t forget to close the door

Maxresdefault 8
Leaving the door open is one of the most common mistakes in PUBG Mobile new players often make

A good manner turns out to be a crucial point to save your squad from being defeated. Among 100 people landing on the map, it’s impossible that your enemy has landed in the surrounding area where your team is looting. An open door turns out to be a deadly mistake and all the enemy clan needs is just a pro with 6X scope to notice it.

Reload your gun

most common mistakes in PUBG Mobile
Remember to reload your gun after a fight

Another common mistake new PUBG Mobile players often make is forgetting to reload your gun. Keep in mind to reload your gun after a fight as PUBG Mobile will not remind you if you’re running out of ammo. What a silly situation when you’ve spotted your enemy and are all set for a fight but only realize that your gun is out of bullets?

Above are the 5 most common mistakes in PUBG Mobile players might make. Visit Gurugamer.com for more helpful articles about PUBG Mobile and other games.

Ever since the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association claimed that the popular battle royale game PUBG Mobile should be banned across the entirety of India earlier this year, this has become a highly controversial topic on the country’s media.

On one hand, many parents and government officials think that the ban is necessary, as they believe that the game is promoting negative behaviors and causing youths to neglect their studies. Goa’s IT minister Rohan Khaunte even went so far as to call it a “demon in every household”, and an 11-year-old boy from Mumbai filed a PIL to the Bombay High Court to demand for PUBG Mobile to be banned. All of this has led to the game being banned for a short while in a few cities in the Gujarat states, but this ban has now been lifted.

On the other hand, gamers are understandably not happy about being barred from their favorite form of entertainment. Many cited studies showing that there is no connection between video games and violent behaviors as arguments to support PUBG Mobile, and the Internet Freedom Foundation recently filed a PIL against the ban as they believed it violated several articles of the constitution.

India is not the only country where PUBG Mobile is being faced with problems, however. Parents in the UAE are also calling for the game to be banned for similar reasons as in India, and the government of Nepal has already taken steps to forbid its citizens from playing this battle royale. Now, the Iraq government is considering the same.

On April 13, the Cultural Parliamentary Committee of Iraq submitted a report requesting a ban on several online multiplayer video games, PlayerUnknown's Battleground and Fortnite Battle Royale included. According to government officials, these games are encouraging violence and corrupting the minds of youngsters in the country.

“The committee is concerned about the obsession over these electronic games that ignite violence among children and youth," said Sameaa Gullab, head of the committee in a press conference. "Its influence has spread rapidly among Iraq’s society.”

PUBG Mobile is being branded as the cause of gaming addiction in India right now, but is it just a scapegoat to shrug of responsibilities?]]>

If you were a kid living in India in the 1990s or early 2000s, then you most definitely experienced this story: Every time the exam period came, teachers, parents, and sometimes even neighbors would tell you to stay away from TVs and comic books. Your favorite Nintendo console gathered dust in the drawer, and parks were empty and deserted.

It is now 2019, but things are still pretty much the same, except for one thing: Smartphones have become a crucial part in the lives of most young adults, and so have mobile games. And currently, PUBG Mobile is the favorite games of most Indian youths.

And, just like any other thing that dares to be popular around exam-time, this battle royale game has landed in the blacklist of the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association, who believed that it was the sole reason for the falling academic results of X and XII grade students in the state.

This association then went on to demand that the authority issue a ban on PUBG Mobile, saying that it is more addicting than drugs and is causing youngsters to spend all their time on their phones and doing nothing.

Young people are spending all their time on the phone and doing nothing because of PUBG Mobile?

It’s quite clear that PUBG Mobile is just being turned into a scapegoat here to make it easier for others to shrug off their own responsibilities. Demanding a ban to be imposed on a game because some students are doing poorly on their exams is like covering a rampaging animal with a blanket and hope that it’ll disappear.

The banning of the game is just a scapegoat?

Unlike the all-in-one handheld games of the old days, PUBG Mobile cannot be locked in a drawer until the exams are over. Furthermore, not only school kids, but many adults also enjoy the game as well. Thus, a ban on the game is simply ridiculous.

Are mobile games addictive to a certain extent? Well, admittedly yes, they are popular for a reason. However, educating minors and making sure that they enjoy their hobbies in a healthy way should be the responsibility of parents – it has always supposed to be.

Without proper guidelines, even without PUBG, they will always find another game to get addicted to.

PUBG Mobile India has reportedly added a health reminder that pops up after a player plays for too long, reminding them to take a break.]]>

With PUBG Mobile facing heavy criticism from Indian parents and authorities for causing addiction and violent tendencies amongst youngsters in the country, the game’s developer has previously spoken up to address the issue. In the statement, the company promised that it’d work with a multitude of stakeholders to deliver a balanced and responsible gaming experience.

Shortly after PUBG Mobile made that statement, some Indian players reported that they were getting pop-up messages during their gaming sessions saying that they had played for 6 hours on that day and asking them to come back after 25 hours. This message quickly went viral on social media, and many believed that the company was testing a playtime restriction system. However, the developer later said it was a bug and quickly removed it from the game.

This week sees a new development to this story. Users who have logged into PUBG Mobile recently are seeing another pop-up notification that talks about how they can maintain their health while gaming.

“At the end of the day, as much as we all love PUBG MOBILE, it is just a game. When you are engrossed in conquering Pochinki and looting the city, time can fly by. It is important to take note of how long you have been playing the game.  Regular breaks can minimise stress of looking at the screen for longer durations as well as relax your mind in general,” the message reads.

Additionally, the pop-up also asks players if they’re under 18 years old. This could possibly be the developer collecting data to further work on a reasonable system that ensures players' health. For now, though, players who keep on playing for too long only get a reminder that says: “The game is appreciated in India and world over. While most of us might play the game to take our mind off other things, it is equally important to ensure that we game responsibly.”

We’ll have to wait and see what the developer will do in the future to combat the criticism of its game.

The Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF) has recently filed a PIL to the Gujarat High Court against the ban of PUBG Mobile in the state, as it believes this ban violates several articles of the constitution.]]>

The heated topic of banning PUBG Mobile in India is seeing a new development, as the Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF) has recently filed a PIL to the Gujarat High Court to challenge the ban of the game that was previously implemented in the state.

As we reported many times before, PUBG Mobile is one of the most popular games in India at the moment, and many youngsters are spending too much time on it to the point where they neglect their studies and even steal money from their parents to buy in-game cosmetic items.

This has resulted in the game receiving heavy criticism from parents, as they claim it is leading to addiction, violent tendencies, and generally negative behaviors among their children.

Against all this backlash, some cities in Gujarat imposed a ban on PUBG Mobile, according to which anyone spotted playing the game could face legal repercussion. This ban reportedly saw about 20 people arrested, although they were all later released on bail.

While the ban has since been removed in several cities, IFF shared a post on Reddit yesterday stating that it had filed a PIL against the ban as the organization believed that it violated Articles 14, 19 and 21 of the constitution.

“What is worse are the legal prosecutions that have resulted from it,” the Reddit post reads, “While the PUBG ban may seem absurd and amusing at first glance, it is no laughing matter. Out of the twenty-one people arrested, at least thirteen were young college students. For a young student who is worried about his family’s reaction and future career prospects, being arrested by the police can be a deeply traumatic experience.”

IFF thinks that the reason behind the ban of PUBG Mobile is just simply moral panic, and it is not an effective solution. “The harms from video games require scientific study and then non-legal methods of engagement,” it said.

A recent case of a 10th-grade student from Telangana committing suicide after he was scolded by his parents for spending too much time on PUBG Mobile has added more fuels to the heated topic that is the banning of the game in India. Now, parents in the UAE are also calling for this popular battle royale to be banned as they think it is a "bad influence on youth".

The banning of PUBG Mobile is still a highly controversial topic, not only in India

A parent in Dubai, Gulnaz Arif Moula, told Khaleej Times: “PUBG should certainly be banned because it negatively affects the minds of children, which makes them very aggressive… Kids took this game so seriously another important thing – not even studying – they only have the goal to win in this game."

"I strongly believe that PUBG should be banned,” Another parent, Mueena Farooq Rumane, said, "With the recent New Zealand mosque attack, it didn't surprise me when I read the response of the attacker and how games like Spyro Dragon and Fortnite trained him to be a killer."

Meanwhile, Bibi Usaima complains that her children spend too much time on PUBG to the point where, as she said, “they cannot concentrate on schoolwork anymore. They are fully engaged in these addictive games and are always on their laptops or iPads – no more outdoor activities."

"It's not suitable for children under the age of 10. My seven-year-old boy plays with 18-year-old boys. It gets on my nerves, my children have become aggressive, and every time I quit, they begin to quarrel. I want it to be banned everywhere and forever.”

On the other hand, fans of the game have also spoken up to rebut these opinions from concerned parents. Dennis Nolan Menezes, admin of the PUBG UAE Community Facebook page, claims that "There are multiple studies which show that kids have a good enough understanding of the difference between games and reality.”

According to him, cases of kids experiencing mental instability related to violence games are just a minuscule number, and if people are relying on these cases as examples to rally against PUBG Mobile, then other violent products such as movies should also be banned.

The game actually has help players relax and entertain themselves

Menezes also believes that these games also have certain benefits as well, as they "help kids vent out little frustrations they may be having arising from daily life, thus calming them down. It helps them relax.”

“Banning does nothing at all in reducing exposure. Kids and everyone else always find ways to circumvent bans - it's useless,” he added, "instead, it would be better to help them understand their feelings and show them ways to voice it out or get to terms with themselves.”

The ban on PUBG Mobile has been lifted in the city of Ahmedabad and several others after it received a huge backlash from fans of the game on social media. Implemented on the 14th of March, this ban reportedly saw 20 people from Vadodara, Ahmedabad, and Rajkot getting arrested under section 188 of IPC for playing the game. All of these people were later released on bail, but the discussion around PUBG Mobile and its ban is still a highly controversial topic in India.

Previously, PUBG Mobile was banned from all primary schools in Gujarat by the state’s authority. A few academic institutions claimed that there is a direct correlation between violent games such as this popular battle royale and the mental wellbeing of children. The game is also branded as the cause of reduced academic performance amongst children.

Regarding the lifting of the ban, Anup Kumar Singh, Ahmedabad police commissioner, said: "...as the exam session is over and the direct trigger to initiating the action is not valid anymore, we will not renew the proclamation. We have also taken public reaction into account".

"However, we are still concerned about the matter, as we are coming across extreme use of the game. We have decided to take more aggressive affirmative action. Maybe we will initiate a discussion and helpline services to provoke various resources in the civil society", he added.

To respond to the criticism, the developers of PUBG Mobile made a statement saying they are willing to work with a multitude of stakeholders to deliver the best overall experience. They are also reportedly testing a “Healthy Gameplay System”, which stops players from continuing with their games after they’ve played for 6 hours in a day and demands that they come back later.

To raise awareness in a negative impact of PUBG Mobile, Indian twins burnt the game’s effigy, arousing a controversial argument between parents and players.]]>

The twin brothers from Mumbai now residing in Maharashtra, Ashish and Amar Vitthal, have decided to celebrate Holika Dahan by burning a PUBG Mobile effigy. Holika Dahan is the event during which Indian people get rid of evil stuff by burning them. Obviously, their action is to attract more attention to how negatively impactful the game is, as well as to discourage others to play the game.

Speaking to the Asian News International channel – ANI, the Vitthal brothers stated, “PUBG must be banned. Parents tell us children play PUBG all day. They appreciate us for the concept." Additionally, they emphasized, "People are turning violent by playing PUBG, children are not focusing on studies. So, we came up with this concept. Earlier we had created awareness about noise pollution, demonetization etc. We will burn this effigy during ‘Holika Dahan’. We want to spread a social message.”

The game’s reputation has skyrocketed since last year and more and more players are becoming too addicted to it. Therefore, PUBG itself has been announced forbidden is various areas across the country, notably in certain cities of Gujarat. Parents from all over India have been calling for help, contacting the authorities to give out a solution before everything has gone too far.

Meanwhile, the community of gamers disagreed with the ban, arguing that there are more worth-banning applications around such as Tik Tok, which has been accused of child sexual exploitation. Besides, they pointed out activities that will certainly cause bad influence like alcohol consumption and smoking have not been banned yet. Therefore, the restriction on PUBG is completely unreasonable.

Asheeta Regidi, whose expertise is in cyber law, noted that the shortage of regulation in gaming in India indicates that the government is acting randomly without a plan. Moreover, the act of banning games only shows their unstructured manner. Instead, to face ongoing problems and mitigate those issues, proper guidelines and regulation should be enforced.

There are many opinions calling on the government to ban PUBG Mobile, but there are also those that think this action is not necessary and does not really solve the problem.]]>

The future of PlayerUnknown’s Battleground Mobile is no longer bright for Indian players as the game now faces bans in some cities in the country. Some people have even been arrested for playing PUBG Mobile. There are many reasons why the government decides to ban this game, including the negligent learning situation of students in the country, the harms that players face when they spend too much time on PUBG Mobile.

The case of two people from Hingoli, Maharastra died from crashing a train while playing PUBG Mobile became an alarm bell for government involvement. After so many similar incidents, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights sent a petition requesting the intervention of the Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to prevent this situation.

Many cities in India have banned PUBG Mobile

Rajkot, Surat, Gir Somnath, Bhavnagar, and Ahmedabad are the cities that officially issued a ban on PUBG Mobile. The accidents and negative effects on players all over India are clearly not the responsibility of PUBG Mobile. After all, this is a game and built with the aim of bringing entertainment to people in a healthy way.

A month ago, people blamed PUBG Mobile for making Indian students not focused on learning and making the results worse. However, before the arrival of PUBG Mobile, the children lost their focus on their learning when they spent a lot of time playing outdoor activities like football or cricket.

Vijay Gopal, currently running a forum in Hyderabad with other activists, said their thoughts on the government's PUBG ban. They claim that PUBG Mobile makes players addictive and leads to negative effects. But other applications like Tiktok or Musical.ly are similar, it also has some impact on users.

S10pubg
Is the ban really effective or just a biased action?

There are cases like some individuals in Mumbai hanging on local trains and having a fatal accident, but we cannot blame the game for their death. It is important that everyone understands that everything that happens depends primarily on the people and surroundings. This game does not always bring trouble and adversely affect India. In fact, through bringing esports in India, PUBG Mobile has brought more jobs to the people here and helped the youth in the country promote their names to the world.

Young citizens of the country like Carryminati and Mortal are playing this game and bringing pride and honor to their homeland. Yet many activists still believe that this game only brings bad effects to the country. The bias will not improve this situation, many gamers hope that the government and activists should carefully review the decision and hope that the PUBG Mobile ban is not one of the best measures.

This news once again raises the persistent problem of PUBG addiction in India. PUBG is the most played game which has attracted a huge number of fans in India. However, this popularity is not supported by both parents and the public. This game is accused of causing increased violence and self-harm among players, negatively affect the young generation.

PUBG is going to be banned in more cities in India

Gujarat is the first stage in India starts to ban PUBG. Last week, police arrested 19 people for playing PUBG. In response to this ban and arrest events, PUGB Mobile has released a statement:

“We were surprised to learn that local authorities in a few cities have decided to impose a ban on playing our game. We are working to understand the legal basis of such bans, and hope we can have a constructive dialogue with relevant authorities to explain our objectives and that they withdraw the prohibition. To PUBG Mobile players, we want to assure you that we are on your side and we will try our best to find a reasonable solution.”

In another statement to relieve the Indians, PUBG confirmed to be working on a solution to this matter and promise to bring a healthy experience. They are also developing new features to help players enjoy PUBG in an appropriate manner. This can be a mechanic that limits playtime for young people.

PUBG Corp should find a solution as soon as possible or they will lose their biggest market.

Indian authorities often pay attention to potential dangers which are harmful to the youth. Recently, the Gujarat government has banned an internet hoax the “Momo challenge” which involves suicide matter. Hopefully, the Indian government and PUBG Corp will soon find the solution to this PUBG addiction in order to let people keep enjoying this game for entertainment in the future.
