All the gamers who pre-ordered the game will be able to join this beta test, too. Along with that, they can also receive a cosmetic DLC pack called 'Punk Pack'. This DLC will feature some skins for the characters, as well as weapons and items.

Set in a futuristic cyberpunk world, the core gameplay of Bleeding Edge rewards cooperative playstyle - because you can not win on your own in those kinds of games. Unlike other aerial combat games, you will not fly in the air inside a high-tech aircraft. Instead, you will be riding a giant Falcon as a “Falconeer,” a skilled warrior with powerful ranged weapons.

In the open-world of The Falconeer, players can do pretty much anything and go everywhere they want. The only mission that you really need to care about in The Falconeer is the mission that you set out for yourself. Each player will have a different cause and experience as they discover the mysterious and beautiful world in the game, be it traveling around the world, completing missions or fighting pirates.

The game mixes classic dogfighting mechanics with acrobatic moves in a third-person perspective to give player fluid movements in combat against flying beetles, manta rays, dragon-like weavers, and even other Falconeers. With wonderous and hauntingly beautiful locations, the game will definitely be able to satisfy all the aerial combat fans out there.

There will be a demo of The Falconeer available at X019 during November 14-16 for players to try out the game for the first time. More information about the game will be revealed next year by Wired Productions on their official channels.

About the developer, Tomas Sala, he is a game artist, designer, and co-founder of Little Chicken Game Company. His most popular project was an exotic Skyrim Mod series called Moonpath to Elsweyr. With years of experience in game development, he helped games such as Rekt!, SXPD, and TrackLab to have its own unique styles and experiences.

The Falconeer will be released for Xbox One and PC in 2020.

Back in E3 2018, we got the confirmation from Microsoft that they were working on the next-gen Xbox console. At this year E3, they gave us more about that machine's capabilities, and also its provisional name together with a launch time window.

We expect to get much more information on the machine in the next 12 months, even so, many early adopters are making their plans right now. So what they can expect? Now, here are some known details and speculations about the Project Scarlett, how better it will do than the previous gen, and what games will be on it.

The release date of Project Scarlett

It is the holiday season of 2020. In case that this new console follows the similar cadence of the Xbox One, the company would reveal more information about it in the 2020 E3.

However, Microsoft is really painful about the original positioning of the Xbox One - as a TV set-top box together with Kinect and social features. But around 66% of people don't care about that. It was a significant set back for the Xbox One before the competition in 2013 with the PlayStation 4.

Will Project Scarlett be better than Xbox One X?

In the promotional video of Project Scarlett which we saw at E3 this year, there are lots of tech-speak. But the main points that many players will pay attention to is it will support 8k resolution, feature an SSD ( same as PS5) that will bring more speed to the load times, also have the maximum frame rate of 120 frames/s.

Another term that we have seen appeared lots is "ray tracing in real-time" and if you don't know what that is then checked out this video below,

All that means a big jump in processing power. But how much? In the presentation, Microsoft did say that it will have around 4 times more power than the Xbox One X. But according to Variety, that claim is only about the power of the central processor, not the graphical capabilities of Scarlett.

Will it do cloud?

The most discussing concept around these days for this unit is, of course, cloud gaming, cloud computing, and cloud streaming. But to us. That mostly about how they will deliver games to our consoles.

They will use the xCloud service of Microsoft to stream games; it is quite different from the subscription of Game Pass in fact. xCloud is something more like the recent Google' Stadia project, though people say that Microsoft will probably tie xCloud and Game Pass together. The company has announced the "buffet" Ultimate  Xbox Game Pass service that includes Game Pass, Xbox Live Gold, and the new PC Game Pass. It comes with the price tag of 14.99 dollars per month.

Will it be compatible backward with current gen games?

The answer is YES. Although the company is a little bit noncommittal to the backward compatibility's scope, however, at this year E3, they announced the last  Xbox 360 games to be compatible with Xbox One, and from now they will focus on making games of Xbox One compatible with Scarlett.

However, we don't know what will happen with the other Xbox generations games - which we can still play on Xbox One via the Game Pass.

Phil Spencer ( of Xbox team) said that Microsoft wants to make it compatible with all generations, including peripherals and accessories, not only games. However, in the following statement from Xbox representatives, they only said that they focus on satisfying the broadest range of players as possible.

How much will Scarlett cost?

Apparently, we are not even near the stage to discuss pricing yet. It is hard also to infer the cost of the material base on the limited information that we have so far. At the center of Project Scarlett, we have a custom made chip - with CPU based on the 3rd generation Ryzen and architecture Zen 2 of AMD. It also features a GPU base on the new technology -Navi, of the company.

People say that Project Scarlett will come in two SKUs, a lower-end system called Lockhart and a higher-end one named Anaconda. Lockhart will be like the Xbox One S, while Anaconda will be the equivalent of Xbox One X. Those came with the price tags of 349 U.S dollars and 499 U.S dollars, respectively, back in 2017.

It is likely that with this new Scarlett console, Microsoft will increase the price of the machine. However, it still depends on how Sony will position its PS5. They will also have to consider the add-on price of xCloud/Game Pass/Xbox Live that will add weight to the minds of the consumers. One thing is sure of is that Microsoft will not want to repeat the mistake of 2013 when its console is 100 dollars more than PS4 due to those add-ons that nobody wants.

The games at the launch of Project Scarlett?

At the keynote event of Microsoft at this year E3, Spencer said that Halo Infinite would among the launch games for the new console. So we have at least one series confirmed. Coincidentally, this will be the first Halo launch with a new console since the 1st Xbox way back in 2001. Rumors said that  Forza Motorsport 8 would come out at E3. But that didn't happen. That means the driving flagship of Microsoft might be coming out with Project Scarlett. The last game in the franchise was Forza Motorsport 7, which came out back in 2017.

From there, it is a total guessing game. We have the Xbox One that is totally compatible backward with all Xbox hardware over the course of its 19 years history would have lots of this generation games remain relevant in 2020. For example, we have Bethesda Softworks who is making technology with the name of Orion to help deliver Doom Eternal to stream services like xCloud and Stadia.

4. Super Meat Boy

Being a brother of the flash game Meat Boy (2008), Super Meat Boy offers you the adventure to save a piece of meat’s girlfriend. In 2010, when Super Meat Boy first showed up, gamers rapidly recognized the brutality of this title. It starts with a basic interface, integrated with in-game tutorials as players make progress. It can be really frustrating to die in Soulsborne, when you prolly have to restart the entire journey, only to return to the foe that killed you and do everything over one more time. Combating mechanics is so hard to master, given it’s the game’s core. If you are inexperienced, don’t bother if you die too much. You need to learn the pattern of enemies’ strikes. Believe me, you will learn something after you die, and after a hundred times of dying, you will probably get a proper fight.

EA has shown a new film of the hair rendering innovation from its Frostbite game motor. To make better hair surfaces and lighting in EA games, the innovation will be utilized. They are discharged on the PS5 and the next Xbox console.

EA has uncovered a montage of the hair rendering technology in Frostbite through an unlisted clip posted to its official YouTube channel. With the camera indicating how the hair looks from behind, the nearly half a minute second clip shows a model sculpture walking. As the model takes a step, it seems that every strand on the model's head move freely, rising and falling as the model takes a step. If you are a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series, you are likely to love the new indie game American Fugitive. This sandbox game has an open world in the 1980s to 1990s of the US. Playing this game and you will feel that you are watching a classic movie or playing a classic old game. Yet this game is very modern with a lot of great modern features for all the actions of the game: stealing, fighting and driving.

Your world in American Fugitive is Redrock County – a quiet town in the US. This game’s graphics has been taken care of with great effort, with a 3D top-down viewpoint for you. First time playing it, I was almost mistaken that this game was made by Rockstar itself as an indie game for Grand Theft Auto series. But actually, American Fugitive is the creation of Fallen Tree Games developer. This game developer has successfully created Black, Crysis, and TimeSplitters, so we don’t have to question the capability of this developer.

And the best thing of American Fugitive is that this game is available on all gaming platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. You can grab this game from all platform. This game’s main quest only takes you about 10-14 hours, but this is a sandbox game, so you get to roam around the open world of its to do whatever you want. The famous Xbox fan – game development hobbyist Voxel9 has just shown off that he managed to play the first Xbox on a Nintendo Switch. This guy has just uploaded a clip to his Youtube channel showing that he was running the XQEMU Xbox emulator on a Switch device. This guy managed to open some classic games of Xbox and play in the clip, including the first Halo title.

The video by Voxel9 starts with some running code on the screen of the Nintendo Switch. After all the codes have been compiled, the screen shows the intro animation of the first console by Microsoft (released in 2001). Then Voxel9 opens Halo: Combat Evolved and play the game a little bit.

This guy can even run the famous title JSRF: Jet Set Radio Future on his Switch. This game was released in 2002, and it is supposed for Xbox only. No other console has this game, even the Xbox One backwards compatibility program does not feature this title. This is a great thing for hardcore gamers of Xbox since we all want to see the classic titles back alive.

However, there is bad news for any gamers that keep their expectation high with this achievement. The XQEMU Xbox emulator on Nintendo Switch is not smooth at all, and the frame per second rate is really low. All the Xbox game in the Switch runs at an extremely slow speed that Voxel9 had to speed up his Youtube video four times. The reason is simple: the XQEMU Xbox emulator requires a high-end PC to run it smoothly, so low-end devices like Switch cannot handle the program properly.

One more inconvenient of this Xbox-Switch is that Voxel9 had to use a PlayStation 4 controller to control the device because the emulator can’t detect the Joy-Con of the Switch. Imagine using a PS4 controller on a Nintendo Switch to play Xbox games. Crazy huh?

Although this method is mainly for show-off, Voxel9 showed us that impossible can be done. Perhaps this achievement can open up more possibility for the gaming industry.

In the gaming market these days we have many great examples of big established studios helping out small indie ones to make their idea game come true. The big studio usually handles the distribution, publishing and even marketing for the game while the indie studio stays focused on the development.

That was the case for  Bandai Namco Entertainment which has helped Tarsier Studios to release their Little Nightmares worldwide on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 platforms. It is an amazing horror - platformer game which was ported to the Switch in 2018.

Very Little Nightmares

Then come to today, Bandai Namco Entertainment has just revealed the new Little Nightmares for the iOS platform. This time they call it Very Little Nightmares. Instead of Tarsier Studios, with this game, the partner of Bandai Namco Entertainment is Alike Studio. Previously, this small yet lovely studio has brought us some great titles like Bring You Home and Love You to Bits. From the trailer video, we could take a game at the gameplay of this new game. Seems like this game won't allow freedom of movement like the console version.

The game is coming soon

If you used to be a Mac gamer or you are a pretty hardcore Halo fan, chances are you are familiar with the Marathon trilogy. The games were released and developed by Bungie in the mid-90s only for Mac. They were kind of an answer of Mac to Wolfenstein and Dooms on PC which had achieved big popularity. Different than the run ‘n gun and blast-a-thons of Doom, Marathon is a game which rich lore and very interesting story. There are many puzzles and platforming features in this game besides the obvious FPS elements. The first Marathon was a huge hit which leads to the creation of two next games, Marathon Infinity and  Marathon 2: Durandal. This trilogy is the thing that made the name for Bungie. Later on, it becomes the influencers for the title  Halo: Combat Evolved. In Halo games, you could find many easter eggs call back to the Marathon trilogy. And if broadly speaking we could think that Marathon and Halo are in the same universe.

Of course, we all know the story of Bungie. Microsoft bought them back in 2000 to lead their new game development department. Then they worked in the launch of the new Xbox console which is the home of Halo: Combat Evolved. However, the old Marathon games still live on as a classic title which is still good to play until today. Bungie was also related to an interesting story on iOS. Right before the acquisition of Microsoft, Bungie released the source code of Marathon 2 engine to the public. Therefore, many users that engine and enhanced it up to use in their game like  Aleph One and many other titles in the past 20 years. Also in 2010, just a short time after the release of the iPad original, Daniel Blezek the developer has ported the original Marathon to the iPad as his personal project. He kept on working on that project secretly until February of 2011 when he announced it to the world.

Marathon for iPad

The announcement of Daniel Blezek for a Marathon on iPad has gathered a lot of attention from fans. There are also questions on the legality of a commercial port like Marathon. Would it be legal to release the game on the App Store of Apple using the libraries, open source code, licensing terms? Then the silence after that led to many fans believe that the legal blocks made the game canned. But in reality, it was the opposite. Bungie caught the news of the port for Marathon iPad then have called out for Blezek to give him their official support and blessing. In fact. you can read the interview between Bungie and Blezek back in June 2011 which has some very interesting information on this amazing project. It is no longer available on the website of Bungie but you could still find the transcript on the official website of Marathon mobile. This all results in the launch of the Marathon iPad port as free-2-playback in July of 2011. It has received positive feedback so far.

After that, you could totally download and play Marathon iPad for free. It still has optional in-game purchases. One of those options allows you to download high-resolution assets that were created for the Xbox Live release of the game. These high-res assets will replace the low-res assets in the default version. The in-game market also offers the option to purchase access to the Master Chief mode, which is practically a cheat mode. There is also an IAP to buy many different cosmetic crosshairs. Of course, players can just choose to support the developer who is a crazy lone guy who has spent countless sleepless weekends and nights to bring Marathon to the freaking iPad!

The trilogy port

So the huge success of the iPad port of the original Marathon had led to the development of Marathon 2 for iOS. They launched that port in December of 2011 with Universal support for all iPhones versions. They also extend that support to the original Marathon via a free update. Thus, Marathon Infinity also came to the iOS on may of 2012 which completed the trilogy. All the three games come with different IAP enhancements and options together with many standard and touchscreen control customizations. These games are really great for both newcomers and original fans to the series to experience an amazing FPS adventure.

No more updates or supports

After that, all went on alright in the world of mobile and those fans of Marathons kept on enjoying the game for a couple more years. But then, 6 years ago around the 2013's Spring, they stopped update or support for all the 3 games. Which in turn make the games slowly went outdated because without the updates and supports the game couldn't be played on newer versions of iOS. This was quite sad because this is the exact same path that other FPS port to iOS has also taken, like  Doom and Wolfenstein 3D. However, there is still a bright side. Just a few months ago they have released an unexpected update for all the 3 games in the Marathon trilogy. This added support for the newest version of iOs with all the screen sizes. In fact, I have just found out about these updates even though they were released back in January. These updates have brought me total delight and shock.

I don't have any explanations nor information on what has changed with the development team of iOS Marathon trilogy. But whatever the case I am really excited for these updates. It also seems that they have been keeping the support on-going ever since January. And just last month they have also released a few new fixes and features ( gyroscope aiming and 3D Touch support). Still, all of the games in the trilogy on iOS remain FREE - with IAPs of course. So it does not matter if you are a fan from the original game back in the '90s, love the game from the 2011 iOs ports, or a newcomer to the whole series you should give Marathon trilogy a try and download the game on iOS then dive in the world of classic FPS experience.

As expected earlier, on March 22, 2019, the adventure game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has officially launched worldwide. With compelling, dramatic gameplay and a storyline, open, this game absolutely deserves to be the epic of the Dark Souls series.

Compared to its predecessors such as Dark Souls or Bloodborne, the game has changed in many ways to undress completely the fighting style, as well as adding parkour and stealth mechanisms. Changing the battle mechanism will make Boss battles in Sekiro: Die Shadows Twice completely different from From Software's older titles. The main character in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is known as The Wolf (Wolf) and the journey of reminiscing ancient Japan promises to bring a new experience to gamers.

Summing up scores on prestigious review journals, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice averaged 90/100, making the latest From Software's latest child totally able to sit with the same names as legendary Dark Souls, The Witcher, GTA or Fallout.

And also depend on your perception of the game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice could either be a very hard or a very easy game. But no matter what, the current record for this game is just impressive.
