The Sacramento Kings have clinched their first NBA Summer League title since 2014, overcoming the Boston Celtics with an impressive 100-67 win that secured their fifth win in five.

With the Summer League offering younger talents to impress it’s fair to say that the Kings may have a lot to look forward to in the future, which may be something to take away ahead of the new season.

Here are the states to have already legalized sports betting in the US, although it would not be a surprise to see this list grow further throughout the duration of 2021, especially given the current financial situation being experienced in the country.

1.  Nevada

Since 2018, there have been various debate and discussions about the partnership between the Olympics and esports, and how they could collaborate. Last year, IEM PyeongChang took part in the partnership with IOC, the International Olympic Committee, raising arguments in the higher level than usual. In the same year, Thomas Bach, the boss of IOC, implied his dismissal again for everyone that esports were too violent for original Olympic sports values.

Esports and Olympics’ partnership is still debatable

In the 2019 panel discussion placed in GEF, panelists Michal Blicharz, known as the ESL pro gaming vice president, along with sports sociologist Nicolas Besombes, who is deeply concerned to the French esports industry and has given advice for GAISF, the Global Association of International Sports Federations, promptly indicated that it would be a major advantage if they work together, but it is different from people’s thoughts.

Blicharz mentioned that various ways are there for the Olympics and esports to support each other.

Blicharz said: “Being associated with the Olympics is a mark of legitimacy. It opens many eyes to esports, potentially. The whole world knows the Olympics. If esports finds itself within the Olympics then all the parents and grandparents will have an easier time accepting videogames when their kids tell them they want to join Astralis and be on this stage. People over the age of 35 have a lot of influence in the world still. Esports doesn’t need to be in the sports program to learn from the movement and the federation.”

According to Besombes, one more important advantage in this partnership is the possibility for esports to acknowledge from difficulties that the Olympics has been solving in years. Esports is undoubtedly good at spectatorship and fan engagement, which other sports should absorb, whereas it could look at how the Olympics using big movement to deal with doping, corruption, as well as protecting the athletes.

However, it is not necessary for esports to be inside the Olympics directly to learn something. It just needs a basic relationship that let esports to watch and acknowledge from Olympics’ movements.

You don’t put significance on the graphics, you’re just thinking about strategy. There’s a lot to do to educate them about that.”

Besides, Blicharz pointed out that the Olympics is attempting to “unite the world” of sports. In other words, a game has to become something that people can support internationally.

“Some of the most violent games are also the most popular and have the terminology of double kill, triple kill, killing spree. These things raise flags for the IOC,” Blicharz said. “They’re more drawn to games like FIFA because they’re harmless in nature but they won’t necessarily draw the whole esports industry around them.”

Something more akin to the Paralympics is one among many advises appearing from the Lausanne appointment of Olympic committee and the leaders of esports industry. The parallel event formation would keep parts of Olympic’s movements, but at the same time, would operate its rules to adapt to the necessary demand.

For esports, a fast-changing and inherently unstable environment, Blicharz claimed that it is compulsory for Olympic-style esports to be held frequently every two to four years.

“The number of points where esports and sports are not compatible dictates a different competition under the IOC umbrella with its own cycle,” Blicharz implied. “Taking a shortcut and accepting the differences which look small on the surface but are very large. Accepting and embracing that and creating a construct more like the Paralympics is a smart way to go forward.”

Also, Besombes related to the extraordinary IEM PyeongChang event, which was reinforced by IOC during the 2018 Winter Games. It is an important historical game that takes place a minor separated from the Olympics, but still have the help of the Olympic movement.

Besombes just wants to slow down and gradually work together, as it is so valuable that it is still meaningful when the collaboration never happens for real.

“What I like the most is, if it doesn’t lead to anything, it doesn’t matter,” Besombes said. “In the world of esports where everything is about rushing, the Olympic movement is so established it can take its time. It’s something new for esports to take time and if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t matter.

“Why can’t we just learn from each other, share experiences, help each other grow?”

All the ‘boring” aspects such as routines, micromanagement, and endless tables or numbers are removed, and what’s left is an engrossing experience that will have you hooked for hours on end. Another interesting feature is that unlike most football games on the market, the matches in Football, Tactics & Glory are turn-based instead of real time. The game also has a full campaign with a detailed skill and class system, as well as an online mode.

It is worth noting that there was no explicit mention of a mobile port anywhere. In fact, when asked if they had any plan to bring Football, Tactics & Glory to mobile in a post on Steam forum back in May 2018, the developers said that they didn’t, as it seemed unlikely that people would be willing to pay such a large amount of money for a mobile game (The game currently costs $19.99, which is roughly equal to Rs 1410, on Steam). They didn’t want to make the game free to play either, since that means they would have to “screw the balance” if they wanted to make money.

However, the same question came up again on Twitter a couple of months later, and this time the response from the developers was “The odds are high”.  It seems like they had a change of heart. With that being the case, we have perfect reasons to expect that a mobile port of this engaging title will be coming at some point in the future.

Right now, though, the console versions are expected to launch in the third quarter of 2019. If you cannot wait until then, you can get it on Steam for your PC right now. A free demo is also available if you want to have a taste before deciding whether to spend money on this game or not.

Punch Perfect is the first game of indie game studio Handprint Games. The game is a combination of reaction and memory boxing game that is launched on both Android and iOS. If you remember the rule of the famous game ‘Simon Says’ then you should be familiar with this game. Players will be trained by coach Simon and they should do what Simon says, regardless of how nonsense it is.

In this game, coach Simon will give players a combination of punch combos and they have to memorize it. After that, they throw the combos back to their Coach in the correct order. While the rule is simple, the hard part lies in the memorizing part. After a while, the combos will become harder and coach Simon might gradually lose his temper. The game demands quick-reaction and coordination skills from the player, and is a good way to train your memory.

Here are some features of the game:

• Coach Simon will show you some combinations of basic kickboxing actions: jabs, uppercuts, hooks, and ducks. The aim of players is to repeat the combo within a set period of time to earn scores.
• The time allowed to finish the sequence equals to the time that coach Simon might lose his patience. It gets faster and requires you more attention for the game, which might later be an ultimate brain challenge.
• There are some levels of punches: perfect, sloppy, etc. If players manage to bring out perfect punches, they will get bonuses.
• What is more, the game even features realistic graphics, music, sound effects. Players can thus turn their house into a true boxing battle at home.

Punch Perfect is just the first shot. The indie developer Handprint Games aims at releasing some other original games in the next couple of years, so fans have other things to expect. On October 3, game developer 2K released the mobile version of NBA 2K19 on iOS. This is the latest installment to its basketball simulator franchise NBA. This is the simplified version of the game on console, with reduced graphics and features to make it suitable for the mobile platform. Still, it retains the arguably most crucial feature of a competitive sport game: The online mode. With this, players can compete with each other, and that is no doubt a lot more fun than playing with the computer.

 
NBA 2K19 Mobile Preview

Now, 2K has finally made the game available for players on Android devices. However, for some unknown reason this Android version does not have an online mode. While there are some players who do not mind, the majority is put off by this omission.

There is a single player story mode, in which you will go through the history of NBA and everything in it, down to the players. Also, the career mode of the game have you play as a young athlete with the goal of becoming an NBA star. Along the way, the main character will have to build relationships with others, learn more about humility, and work on his flaws. Still, for some fans, these are not enough to make up for the lack of online Player-versus-player gameplay.

Another important feature that the Android version is missing is the sound of the ball. That means you will not hear anything when the characters dribble, pass or shoot the ball. Other sounds are still there, such as the sound of shoes scraping on the floor when the characters move or the audience cheering, but the absence of ball sounds really does take a lot away from the gameplay experience. There is currently no explanation for this, since the iOS version does have ball sounds.

Despite the lack of important features, the Android version of NBA 2K19 Mobile still cost $7.99, the same as the iOS version. Plus, even though the game makes you pay for it, it still has a lot of ads that you have to suffer through. These are major flaws that 2K has to work on if it wants to make the game appealing to anyone except hardcore fans of the franchise on Android.
