Rockstar has published quite a number of quality games with a lot of replayability value.]]>

Rockstar Games, a renowned AAA Studio, has a rich history of developing outstanding games. While fans eagerly await the release date of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto installment, many have revisited Rockstar's earlier titles, cementing the studio's reputation in the gaming industry. Apart from Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar offers a variety of games on PC, accessible via Steam. Among the extensive selection, these top-rated titles stand out as some of the best experiences players can enjoy through Steam.

1. Grand Theft Auto 5

Predictably, among all the Rockstar Games available on Steam, Grand Theft Auto 5 stands out as the most adored and consequently, the highest-rated title among them all. In this game, players have the freedom to switch between three different protagonists at their will. This feature, coupled with the gripping narrative of the action-shooter game, creates an exceptional gaming experience for anyone picking it up on Steam.

Moreover, Grand Theft Auto 5 offers an outstanding online mode. Rockstar has consistently enhanced it by introducing numerous free expansions, enabling players to expand their criminal empires and compete against others in the virtual world.

2. Red Dead Redemption 2

As previously stated, another renowned creation from Rockstar Games is the iconic Wild West game, Red Dead Redemption. Although the original version isn't available on Steam, players can easily access the sequel, Red Dead Redemption 2, on PC.

Red Dead Redemption 2 1
Red Dead Redemption 2

In this installment, players delve further into the game's historical setting, predating the events of the original game. Here, players assume the role of Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van Der Lin Gang. The game unfolds his narrative, offering players the choice to live the life of an outlaw or embrace a new path as the era of cowboys draws to a close.

For the visuals, even while not at the ultra settings, this game is insanely beautiful, I never felt a world full of life as much as in RDR2, Rockstar went into each detail to create the last days of the Wild West and it is a huge payoff for the players, you really feel like you riding with a gang in the early 1900s. And with photo mode, whatever you are doing and wherever you are on the map, be sure that you'll end up with a nice photo. I'll add to that the dynamic weather and different environments won't change just the looks but also the fauna and flora of the region.

3. Grand Theft Auto 4

Grand Theft Auto undeniably stands out as one of Rockstar Games' most iconic franchises, consistently driving the company's success, and Grand Theft Auto 4 is no exception.

Grand Theft Auto 4

What sets the Steam version apart is its status as the Complete Edition. This means players can explore not just Niko's narrative but also the captivating stories of Johnny and Luis. These tales have been seamlessly interwoven to craft one of the most exceptional single-player experiences to date.

4. L.A. Noire

In a similar vein, L.A. Noire embraces the essence of Film Noir as a distinctive gaming experience. Crafted by Rockstar Leeds and Team Bondi, players are in for an engaging adventure assuming the role of a detective in Los Angeles, solving crimes.

L A Noire
L.A. Noire

The city of L.A. is plagued by a series of intense murders, with the culprit still at large. Cole Phelps and his partner collaborate to unravel these mysteries. While the game does include action sequences typical of a murder thriller, its standout feature lies in its detective mechanics. Players must keenly observe the facial expressions of the individuals they interrogate to discern the truthfulness of their statements.

5. Max Payne 3

Unexpectedly surpassing both the original and its sequel, the third and concluding installment of the Max Payne series captivates a larger audience with its action-packed gameplay. Max, once a New York cop, has now sought refuge in Brazil, where he appears to be facing difficult times. Despite this, he remains an exceptional protagonist in an extraordinary game.

3 Max Payne 3

Max Payne 3 was developed by Rockstar Studios and subsequently published by Rockstar Games. Even with a different team working on this installment, the game maintains its allure through its intricate and somber storyline. Even after completion, numerous players found themselves yearning for more, a testament to the game's enduring impact.

6. Bully

Developed by the Rockstar New England team, Bully can be described as a school-based version of Grand Theft Auto. The game centers around a troublemaking boy named Jimmy Hopkins, who finds himself abandoned by his family at Bullworth Academy, a boarding school filled with comical and awkward situations.

In Bully, players attend classes and assert their dominance at the school as Jimmy climbs the school's social ladder. They have the freedom to explore the school grounds at will, engaging in various activities. Additionally, as the story unfolds, players can venture into the world beyond the Academy, adding depth and complexity to the Bully experience.

7. Max Payne

Despite the considerable success of Max Payne 2, it couldn't outshine the impact of the original game. Interestingly, Rockstar Games, although the publisher for the original Max Payne, didn't develop it; that credit goes to Remedy Entertainment.

Max Payne
Max Payne

The Film Noir-inspired action combat genre was inaugurated by the original Max Payne. Players assumed the role of the undercover police officer, compelled to defend himself after being falsely accused of a murder. With its gripping narrative, filled with numerous unexpected plot twists, Max Payne revolutionized the action-shooter genre upon its initial release in 2001.

8. Max Payne 2

Among the various franchises associated with Rockstar Games, the Max Payne series is one that many players eagerly anticipate alongside Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. Although the first and second games were not developed by Rockstar, the company did serve as the publisher for these titles and took the reins for the creation of the third installment.

Max Payne 2 The Fall Of Max Payne

In Max Payne 2, players delve into the investigation of a woman's murder in New York City. However, in true Film Noir fashion, the plot is far from straightforward, intertwining an elaborate love story with thrilling action-packed gameplay. Despite its original release in 2003, the game continues to enjoy widespread love and admiration from players.

<![CDATA[6 Tips For Immersion In Red Dead Redemption 2]]> https://gurugamer.com/pc-console/6-tips-for-immersion-in-red-dead-redemption-2-22485 Wed, 28 Jun 2023 04:37:00 +0000 https://gurugamer.com/pc-console/6-tips-for-immersion-in-red-dead-redemption-2-22485
Red Dead Redemption 2 offers numerous chances for complete engagement, and the subsequent suggestions are excellent for making the most of this immersive experience.]]>

Red Dead Redemption 2 is widely recognized as an extraordinary video game, hailed for its remarkable quality and immersive experience. Set in a fictional rendition of 1899 United States, the game captivates players with its realistic portrayal of the era. The awe-inspiring landscapes and living, breathing world inhabited by non-playable characters add to its exceptional reputation as a masterpiece.

For those aiming to delve deeper into the Wild West and fully lose themselves in the game, there exist distinct techniques to heighten immersion even more. Here are six tips:

1. Embrace First-Person Perspective

Playing in first-person view is an easy way for players to immerse themselves fully in RDR2 and truly embody the character of Arthur Morgan. While the game was primarily designed for third-person gameplay, Rockstar included a first-person option, easily switchable with a button press. The first-person perspective enhances immersion, making combat more engaging and reminiscent of first-person shooter games.

2. Disable the Compass

RDR2 has a relatively minimalistic user interface, featuring a partially dynamic heads-up display (HUD) that avoids cluttering the screen. To enhance immersion, players can navigate to the display settings and turn off the radar, which is the primary on-screen element. By disabling the minimap, players enjoy a cleaner screen and can experience the challenge of natural navigation. If needed, players can refer to road signs, briefly consult the compass, or access the full map in the menu for assistance.

3. Emulate Realistic Movement

Similar to other open-world games, a tip for immersion is to avoid excessive running or galloping everywhere. In real life, people generally walk unless there is an emergency or a genuine need for speed. This principle holds true in urban areas like Valentine and Saint Denis, where running is considered impolite and potentially hazardous. The same logic applies to horseback riding, as constantly sprinting on a horse is both dangerous and wasteful. By walking or trotting, players can fully appreciate the scenery and notice subtle details, such as NPC interactions, that may have otherwise gone unnoticed.

4. Utilize Immersive Mods

Even with the passing of time, Red Dead Redemption 2 remains as fresh and visually striking as ever. Its remarkable photorealistic graphics continue to impress, maintaining their impact since the game's initial release. It is worth noting that the game has not received an update for the latest generation of consoles, and the possibility of such an update seems increasingly unlikely.

Utilize Immersive Mods

While RDR2 is already incredibly immersive, there are mods available that further enhance the game's realism. These mods contribute to a more lifelike world and are regarded as some of the best mods for Red Dead Redemption 2. For instance, the Immersive Scenarios mod allows players to engage in small, immersive actions akin to those performed by NPCs. There are also numerous HUD mods, a dog companion mod, and combat system overhauls that increase realism.

5. Dress Accordingly

Red Dead Redemption 2 features a comprehensive clothing system. While it may be tempting to always don the finest available outfit, for additional immersion, it is advisable to dress appropriately for each situation. The game already encourages this by requiring players to wear warmer clothing in colder environments and remove layers when it gets hot. Taking it a step further, players can consider their character's upcoming activities. For example, Arthur would likely wear different attire when going hunting versus going into town.

6. Establish a Routine and Rest

To heighten immersion in Red Dead Redemption 2, players can fully embrace role-playing by treating each in-game day as if it were a real day. Fortunately, the game incorporates several mechanics to support this. Players can find a camp or hotel to rest and sleep. Upon waking up, they can begin their day by having breakfast and tending to morning chores, such as shaving, chopping firewood, or hunting. A midday meal can be enjoyed, followed by a visit to the local saloon as evening approaches. When Arthur gets dirty from his outlaw activities, he should prioritize bathing at a hotel to maintain cleanliness.

Establish a Routine and Rest

Red Dead Redemption 2 revolves around lawless outlaws thriving in the untamed American frontier, yet the game's Wanted system is notorious for its unpredictability, which can frustrate players engaging in criminal activities. It is common for players to rob or incapacitate someone in a remote location, only to have a witness suddenly appear and report the crime. There have even been instances where a player's crime is accurately attributed to Arthur Morgan, despite wearing a disguise or remaining unseen by potential informants. Surprisingly, minor offenses like accidentally bumping into civilians often result in lethal force being used against the player.

<![CDATA[5 Gameplay Features GTA 6 Should Take From Red Dead Redemption 2]]> https://gurugamer.com/pc-console/5-gameplay-features-gta-6-should-take-from-red-dead-redemption-2-22217 Wed, 10 May 2023 01:26:00 +0000 https://gurugamer.com/pc-console/5-gameplay-features-gta-6-should-take-from-red-dead-redemption-2-22217
GTA is a great series, but it could definitely see some modern improvements. Here are some of the best RDR 2 features Rockstar might implement in GTA 6.]]>

The hype train for GTA 6 is building nicely, despite the lack of any official confirmation or anything about its development. Fans of the franchise are impatiently waiting for either that or a trailer, making this one of the most anticipated title in recent memory.

Since GTA V's launch in 2013, the only comparable game Rockstar released is Red Dead Redemption 2. It is also a master of open world storytelling and has numerous gameplay elements that GTA 6 should take.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a highly complex video game that tells the tale of Arthur Morgan and his gang of outlaws. Players continue to make fresh discoveries in the game to this day. Therefore, let's examine five gameplay features that GTA 6 could incorporate from Red Dead Redemption 2.

1. A lived-in world

One of the most common criticisms that players have for GTA V is about the game's world. Despite being better than most other open world games, there are still plenty to be desired. Rockstar has definitely improve their craft over the years. In Red Dead Redemption 2, they succeeds in generating a vivid and realistic picture of Saint Denis.

Red Dead 2's world feels lived in and very interractive.

Even the smaller towns within the game are filled with distinctive characters and intricate details. It is expected that a similar level of attention and detail will be applied to the portrayal of Vice City, the rumored setting of GTA 6.

2. Improved gunplay

Despite the range of gunplay options available in GTA V and Online, many players have criticized it as being basic and a step back from the gunplay in Grand Theft Auto IV.

Red Dead Redemption 2 1539068821313 48cb_wm
GTA 6 could definitely use a more sophisticated combat system

This is an area where fans are hoping to see improvement in the upcoming game. While no shooting mechanics are perfect, Red Dead Redemption 2's implementation of firing different weapons felt distinct and impactful.

If Rockstar Games implements this gameplay feature in Grand Theft Auto 6, it has the potential to substantially improve the entire experience.

Max Payne 3, which is renowned for its amazing shooting mechanics and is recognized as one of the greatest in the action-adventure genre, could also serve as inspiration for the game.

3. In-depth NPC interaction

Red Dead Redemption introduced a groundbreaking mechanic where players could greet, antagonize, or rob NPCs, and their reactions would vary depending on how they were treated. Players who were polite may have received assistance in return, but if they were nasty or threatening, they may have faced antagonism or even legal issues. This gave an unprecedented level of realism and immersion to the game, making open-world games more interesting.

Although Red Dead Redemption 2 already implemented this system, it was set in the Wild West, which had fewer people than a modern city like Vice City. However, seeing the amount of people and the system in place in Saint Denis in Red Dead Redemption 2 gives me hope that this system could potentially be implemented in GTA VI.

The NPC interactions in RDR 2 was fairly interesting.

If they were to include this feature in GTA VI, it would cement their position as the masters of open-world gaming tbh, for me personally they are already but I also know that many felt otherwise with RDR2 because of the wild west niche thing.

4. Seamless random events

It's usual to come across strangers in need of help while exploring Red Dead Redemption 2's large open environment. These interactions frequently take unexpected turns, putting the player's character in perilous positions. The smooth transition from free-roaming to a scripted event in Red Dead Redemption 2 is a gameplay feature that should be incorporated into GTA 6.

Red Dead 2's random encounters can take unexpected turns.

Grand Theft Auto V already has a similar but rudimentary mechanic in the form of Strangers and Freaks. By taking inspiration from Red Dead Redemption 2 and improving upon this mechanic, the overall experience of Grand Theft Auto 6 could be significantly enhanced.

5. Honor system

Red Dead Redemption 2 includes an Honor system that plays a crucial role in the game's storyline. Acts of kindness contribute to building a positive reputation, while negative actions increase notoriety. How a player conducts themselves during the main campaign significantly influences various story events and even the ending.

Maxresdefault 1
There are many benefits players can get as they gain or lose more honor.

However, the fundamental concept of a Grand Theft Auto game revolves around committing criminal and violent acts. Therefore, duplicating this gameplay feature in the same manner may seem inappropriate. Nevertheless, Rockstar could incorporate it in a way that the player's actions affect the story of GTA 6 to some extent.

Simply said, if you do nice, such as assist folks who are stranded or being beaten, your Honor will rise. Your Honor will be reduced if you steal, murder innocent people, or otherwise become a nuisance. Are you wondering why that elderly man abused you, or why the shopkeeper knocked a dollar off your new outfit? It's due to your Honor Rank.

Rockstar Games is probably the best RPG studio ever in history, with every game from them being massive hits at the time they were released.]]>

Over the past 20 years, Rockstar Games has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the games industry, with their two latest titles, GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 being amongst the biggest successes ever in the video game world.

However, this is not the first time this happens. In this article, we are going to list out the top 5 best games made by Rockstar.

5 - Grand Theft Auto III

Release: 2001

GTA III is one of the titles that change video games forever - it is the first GTA title with an interactive 3D sandbox open-world. In this game, you would step into the shoes of a criminal out for revenge... after escaping from the back of a prison truck. The game is played from a 3rd-person perspective and you can navigate its world by either foot or vehicle. The open-world design lets players freely roam the three main islands of Liberty City.

Grand Theft Auto Iii Switch

You would be working your way up the crime world, assassinating, transporting illegal materials, prostitution, dealing drugs... and getting up to all sorts of mayhem. These are the topics that were often avoided at the time.

4 - Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Release: 2002

Vice City is an expansion of GTA III's concept, bringing players to the neon lights of the City of Vice. Vice City is based on Miami in the 1980s, which is a highly varied urban sprawl ranging from beaches to swamps, glitz to ghetto. You would follow the footsteps of mobster Tommy Vercetti on his revenge journey and slowly building a criminal empire - seizing power from other criminal organizations in the city.

Gta Vice City Android
GTA Vice City

The voiced character and the improved storyline are probably the best improvements that Vice City has over its predecessors. Everything else is more or less the same as GTA 3.

3 - Red Dead Redemption

Release: 2010

While Red Dead Redemption did the gameplay part pretty well, its best feature is probably the storyline. Red Dead Redemption is set during the decline of the American frontier in the year 1911 and follows John Marston, a former outlaw whose wife and son are taken hostage by the government in ransom for his services as a hired gun. Having no other choice, Marston sets out to bring three members of his former gang to justice.

Fe

The result is one of the best stories ever told in a game, with a lengthy collection of memorable one-liners as well as an unforgettable final act.

2 - Grand Theft Auto V

Release: 2013

There's not much else that you can say about GTA V, as everyone probably already knows it. It is the most successful Rockstar game on this list. GTA V offered a deep, engaging story mode filled with great missions and sympathetic characters in the city of Los Santos. The gunplay, driving mechanics, and physics have been retooled since GTA IV to make combat more exhilarating.

Gta V Skip Missions

While its story might not be as good as Red Dead Redemption, its combination of a good story and a robust single-player campaign is definitely something harder to accomplish.

1 - Red Dead Redemption II

Release: 2018

After a long wait, Red Dead Redemption II finally released and exceeded players' expectations. It features a ridiculously complex world filled with intractable NPCs that maintain schedules, realistic ecosystems where animals hunt one another, which has never been attempted before on any AAA games.

Red Dead Redemption

This complexity and allure of this world are only matched by the masterful storytelling in Red Dead Redemption II’s campaign. You would step into the gang leader Arthur Morgan on his adventures across the western front as an outlaw.

1 - About Red Dead Redemption 2 Cheats PS4, Xbox, and PC

These cheats are pretty easy to access in general - you can go on a rampage with infinite ammo and heavy weapon at a moment's notice... however, there is a set of rules that you must take note of.

 • Achievements or Trophies are disabled the moment cheats are turned on.
 • Cheats won't work unless you have bought a newspaper or examined one in-game.

2 - How to activate Cheats?

Head to Saint Denis, Valentine and Blackwater and pick up the Saint Denis Times, New Hanover Gazette and Blackwater Ledger respectively from the newspaper seller in town. Certain newspapers will only be available after you have passed a certain point in the story, and some cheats are actually locked off based on how far you have progressed. Because of this, you might want to finish the main campaign first to get the best experience.

You can also find various cheats in the open world, etched onto the surfaces in the environment as well.

Check out this article to find out more about the top 5 best alternatives for Grand Theft Auto 5.]]>

GTA 5 is undoubtedly one of the most successful games ever made - it still remains on the top 10 "most played" game list, even to this day. This is a prime example of how awesome Rockstar Games is with the open-world RPG genre.

However, no game lasts forever. If you are bored with GTA 5 and want to try something new, these 5 games should be your first picks.

1 - Red Dead Redemption 2

This is pretty much the best western game on PC currently - a worthy sequel to the original RDR. The best part about RDR 2 is its insane level of detail in every part of the world, depicting a clear and true picture of the historical American West.

Red Dead Redemption Ii Pc Experience

The world feels alive, with characters and wildlife go about their business regardless of your involvement. The campaign lasts for a whopping 70 hours... and after you completed it, there's also the multiplayer component Red Dead Online for fans of the gameplay.

2 - Mafia 2

The peak of the Mafia franchise - you would step into the shoes of former soldier Vito Scaletta, who joined the mob after returning from war. The best part of the game is the settings - you would get to immerse yourself in the Mafia Era of America. The entire story is immaculately produced with plenty of drama to keep you speeding through the chapters.

Mafia 2 Explosion

The gameplay is fairly decent despite a pretty wonky cover system. While driving feels less responsive than GTA 5, it is never boring when you have to drive from A to B... as the world is densely packed with content.

3 - Sleeping Dogs

If you are bored with the usual "American" setting, Sleeping Dogs would be a breath of fresh air. It is a clone of GTA sets in Hong Kong. In the course of the game, you would explore the criminal underworld in the far eastern territory as an undercover cop.

Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition 1 2769

The level of details in the game is unreal - from the many landmarks to the Cantonese slang spoken by street food vendors... You would feel like a resident of that certain place for real. The combat is fairly decent, with a bigger focus on melee fights.

4 - Yakuza Kiwami

Another entry of the far East - this time we visit the criminal underworld of Japan instead of China, where the Japanese Mafia "Yakuza" rule supreme. Yakuza Kiwami tells the story of Kazuma Kiryu... who takes the blame for a murder he never did. Step into Kiryu's shoes as he returns from prison to a changing world.

Yakuza77

Yakuza is also a crime epic - you would get to explore every nook and cranny of the fictional city of Kamurocho over the course of the series. The combat in this game is mostly melee-based - the franchise is known for its brutal fistfights.

5 - La Noire

Unlike these 4 games above, La Noire would put you into the shoes of a cop instead of a criminal. However, there's another twist - the protagonist Cole Phelps is not a modern cop... he is a detective in the city of Los Angeles during the Golden Age of Hollywood (1940s -1950s).

La Noire Ps4 Xbox One Driving

If you have seen the classic detective movies and enjoyed them - this game would definitely give you a unique experience. While you’ll be playing on the side of the good guys, the lines between right and wrong are constantly blurred, especially as you start investigating vice and arson cases.

Find out more about this year's winner of Steam Awards in this article. These are the best game on PC of 2020.]]>

Steam Awards is an annual event run by Steam to pick out the best games of the year released on their platform in various weird categories. While other proper Awards have normal categories like Best Action Game, Best RPG... Steam has replaced that with a lot of peculiar titles - this, along with the fact that votes on these awards are cast by players, has made the Steam Awards highly regarded amongst gamers.

The Steam Awards 2020

In this article, we would list out everything you need to know about this award... and the best game of the year, Red Dead Redemption 2.

1 - Steam Awards 2020 Winners

Overall, the winners are fairly predictable, with all the big names of the year getting awarded. The biggest surprise is probably Hades' failure of getting any award at all (it was "Best Action Game" and "Best Independent Game" in this year's The Game Awards).

 1. Game of the Year: Red Dead Redemption 2 (Hades, DOOM Eternal, Fall Guys, Death Stranding)
 2. Sit Back and Relax: The Sims 4 (Microsoft Flight Simulator, Satisfactory, Untitled Goose Game, Factorio)
 3. Best Soundtrack: DOOM Eternal (Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Helltaker, Need for Speed Heat, Persona 4 Golden)
 4. Outstanding Visual Style: Ori and the Will of the Wisps (Battlefield 5, There is No Game, Marvel's Avengers, Black Mesa)
 5. Best Game You Suck At: Apex Legends (Crusader Kings 3, Ghostrunner, FIFA 21, GTFO)
 6. Outstanding Story-Rich Game: Red Dead Redemption 2 (Detroit: Become Human, Mafia Definitive Edition, Metro Exodus, Horizon Zero Dawn)
 7. Most Innovative Gameplay: Death Stranding (Control, Superliminal, Noita, Teardown)
 8. Better With Friends: Fall Guys (Sea of Thieves, Borderlands 3, Deep Rock Galactic, Risk of Rain 2)
 9. Labor of Love: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (Among Us, Terraria, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, No Man's Sky)
 10. VR Game of the Year: Half-Life: Alyx (Phasmophobia, The Room VR: A Dark Matter, Thief Simulator VR, Star Wars Squadrons)

Steam Awards 2020 Winners

2 - How did Red Dead 2 win The Steam Awards despite released in 2018?

Overall, with gamers themselves getting the vote instead of gaming journalists, the award is more of a popularity contest than anything else. More popular games would get the edge... and Rockstar titles have the highest advantage in this regard.

The Steam Awards Scaled E1609741782496

The Steam Awards is also Steam-centric. It is actually a PC Awards in disguise, with only the Steam Release date getting taken into account. Red Dead 2 PC was released on Steam in 2020... and that qualifies the game for this year's award.

Rockstar Studios is known for making some of the best games of all time, but here are 5 best games made by Rockstar that stand out even among those games.]]>

Everyone in the world of gaming knows the name of and the influence that Rockstar Games has gained in the video game industry, one of the most respected developers today. Almost every game by the company has been a masterpiece, so choosing the best games made by Rockstar is a pretty difficult task.

Top 5 Best Games Made By Rockstar

When thinking of Rockstar games the first thing that can come to mind is its flagship: Grand Theft Auto, but what we must all take into account is that the developer has other titles of the same caliber and quality as the GTA franchise.

That's why we GuruGamer would like to bring you this top 5 of the best games made by Rockstar from each of the company's 5 main franchises:

5 Best Games Made by Rockstar From Each of Its Franchises

Table of Contents

 • 1. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
 • 2. Red Dead Redemption 2
 • 3. Max Payne 3
 • 4. LA Noire
 • 5. Midnight Club: Los Angeles

1. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

It was difficult to choose a single Grand Theft Auto as the most important of this Rockstar Games franchise. Mentioning just one is difficult, but we decided on San Andreas as the most mythical GTA of the entire saga and one of the best games made by Rockstar, which was released on October 26, 2004, for the Playstation 2, Xbox, and Windows.

San Andreas incorporated at that time one of the largest maps seen in a video game, combining 3 cities: Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas. The game managed to reach almost 30 million units sold and over time reached an average score of 95 in Metacritic, and that is why we consider GTA San Andreas as the best Grand Theft Auto in the series.

2. Red Dead Redemption 2

It is the largest open-world video game known so far. The second edition of the legendary Red Dead Redemption also stands out for its graphic details, more than 50 missions, and the quality of the plot that is set in a midwestern story.

Playing an open-world title won't feel the same after you have finished Red Dead Redemption 2. Thanks to the evaluations of other players as one of the best games made by Rockstar, it has been able to sell more than 13 million copies for the PlayStation 4 alone in a short time, which can now be enjoyed on the PS4 and Xbox One.

3. Max Payne 3

Originally this franchise was not owned by Rockstar or Take-Two Interactive until May 2002. Take-Two bought the rights to the franchise from Remedy and 3D Realms. The third installment was the one that stood out the most, which was developed by Rockstar Vancouver, released on May 18, 2012, for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

The Max Payne franchise came with a solid 3rd installment that told us the story of an older and morally bankrupt Max Payne who is forced to accept a job offer as a bodyguard for a wealthy family in Brazil.

The game kept the essence of the previous Max Payne and brings a lot of innovations such as a multiplayer mode, which is something never seen in this franchise, and improvements to the bullet time to give that Matrix movie feel. In case you don't know what bullet time is, it is something similar to what we see in Red Dead Redemption with the Dead Eye System

Max Payne 3 was well received by critics with an average above 80, and this third installment which came out in 2017 had sold 3 million units, which was somewhat below Rockstar's forecasts but this is a game that is still fully recommended.

4. LA Noire

Although this game was developed by Team Bondi, it was distributed by Rockstar Games, and currently, after the end of professional collaboration due to disagreements with Bondi, Rockstar Games now own the rights to LA Noire. The game was released on May 17, 2011, for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

The game tells the story of detective Cole Phelps who will have to solve a series of crimes in Los Angeles in 1947, inspired by the film noir genre of the 40s and 50s. The game was well received by critics reaping an average of 90. The game provided good benefits for Rockstar's parent company Take-Two Interactive, granting them a 7.75% share increase on launch day.

LA Noire was well ahead of its time when it came to graphics, they used 32 high-definition cameras to capture even the smallest detail of the actors. This was fundamental in the game since facial expressions were the highlight when questioning a person in the game.

Top 5 Best Games Made By Rockstar

On November 14, 2017, Rockstar re-launched the game this time with improvements and remastered for current generation consoles. We hope that Rockstar will one day decide to develop a sequel to one of the best games made by Rockstar

5. Midnight Club: Los Angeles

Launched on October 21, 2008, for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles and set in the state of California, Rockstar brought us the fourth installment of this racing franchise developed by Rockstar San Diego in which they allowed us to go from being a novice in street racing to becoming the champion, with an open world ready to be explored in our favorite car.

The game was acclaimed back then for its good recreation of some of LA's most iconic sights and the fun you could have causing chaos in the night streets of Los Angeles. It had a multiplayer for 16 people where we were allowed to create our own races and it was well-received in terms of criticism obtaining an average of 80.

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Review: Plot

After downloading Red Dead Redemption 2 Skidrow, you immense in the Wild West of America and explore the story of the outlaw Arthur. This game is said to have one of the best plots in 2018. Like the protagonist John Marston in Red Dead Redemption, Arthur is an orphan brought up by Dutch. Then, he became a trusted shooter in Dutch’s gang. This Red Dead Redemption 2 PC review will give you a brief beginning part of RDR2 before you enter this world.

Beginning RDR2 Adventure

In the late 19th century, civilization spread out in the Wild West and brought the law to this land. Western gangs were hunted by the bounty hunters working for the authority. Van der Linde gang had to move and shelter in the outskirt of Black Water Town where they had a fierce fight with cops and had to run away.

The gang sheltered on a snowy mountain and faced a great threat from hunters and policemen. Many members were killed or captured and Dutch and Arthur had to lead the gang to overcome that difficult time. They did a train heist and robbed a great property from a billionaire. It let them live safe and sound for a short time after they move to Horseshoe Overlook, a flatted highland near Valentine surrounded by pine forests and high cliffs. Then, the adventure of Arthur to find a survival way for him and his gang starts at this point. You’d better play and experience it yourself.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on Steam next week, on December 5th, 2019.]]>

Today, the release date of the Steam version Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC has been announced - which is next week, on December 5th, 2019. This release is around a month later than the original PC release of the game - which is now out on Epic Games Store and RockStar Game Store.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Review Feature Header
Steam users receive the game a month later

At the time of this writing, the game doesn't have a Steam Page yet. However, it's most likely to be sold at full price on the Steam Store - as I don't think Rockstar will let the game to be sold on Steam with a cheaper price tag. Also, both the GOG and Epic Games Store version of the game also require the installation of the new Rockstar Games Launcher, so that might be the case for the Steam version also.

You can see the trailer for the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 on the video below:

Of course, the spectacular graphics of the game as we've seen on the above trailer came with a price - that the total HDD requirement for this game is a massive 150GBs. That's to be expected though, especially when the game features 4K resolution textures, as well as uncompressed models and sound.

However, as we previously reported, the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is a big mess, performance-wise. While some players have reported that the game randomly crashed many times while they are playing the game, with a generic error message without any error code: “Red Dead Redemption 2 has exited unexpectedly,” I've only encountered the crash once. However, as for me, the game stuttering so bad that it's almost unplayable.

Red Dead Redemption 2 A True Free World Doesnt Nee
The PC version of this game suffered from many problems

For this reason, we should hope that the Steam version's release will come along with performance patches, as well as further optimization so that the game will become more playable, or I can be sure that if not, the game will receive a bunch of negative comments and reviews on Steam.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on Steam next week, on December 5th, 2019.

After a long time waiting, the award-winning PS4 game Red Dead Redemption 2 has finally landed on PC in early November. The PC port of the game features a lot of 'Quality-of-life' changes, as well as more polished graphics with better texture, 4K support, and higher graphics quality settings.

Red Dead Redemption 2 1

However, to some people, a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 also opens the way for modders to tweaks the game as they like, for example, changing the models, outfits, etc. However, a Youtuber from the LowSpecGamer channel has provided another twist to the game - by modding the graphic quality down to the lowest of low, to see what will happen.

And you can see the result of this 'experiment' in the video below:

As we can see, the game with this setting looks like a nightmarish world, with faceless characters, hands with no fingers, no-eye horses, etc.

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version is one of the most awaited titles that got ported on PC. However, the game suffered a rough launch with many bugs and performance problems, including random crashes, stuttering, and random freezing. While a patch has been rolled out to fix all those reported problems, some players even reported that the update only makes the game run worse.

Red Dead Redemption 2 A True Free World Doesnt Nee

It's really sad when one of the most anticipated PC releases of the year has faced a lot of problems at their launch like this. The game is really great, as expected from the game that has taken the world by storm last year when it was released on the PS4. The game looks really beautiful - if your hardware is good enough, it looks way more beautiful than the PS4 version.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on PC, and if you faced with performance problems, then you might want to take a look at this article for some temporary fixes.

Despite the low system requirements, the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is rather hard to run, as it is filled with bugs and bad optimization.]]>

Red Dead Redemption 2 has finally hit the PC platform, however, there have been quite a few problems with the game, from simple stability issues, stuttering, or even game-breaking bugs like players constantly in the state of malnourished. In this guide, we would cover the settings and optimization of your Red Dead 2 and how to set the system so that the game could run as smooth as possible.

Before we begin, there are two things to be mentioned. Rockstar is generally free with mods on the single-player part of the game, however, you have to keep it out of multiplayer otherwise you would get banned. The other thing is that Red Dead Redemption 2 works the same on any hardware from any company, AMD, NVIDIA or Intel, whatever would work. The game is still getting worked on constantly and more fixes would come out soon, however, the core of this guide would remain true.

Settings Overview

Kg4wrns2yzyoqqceoww8x4
Features currently available on the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2

Similar to GTA 5, there is no preset for RDR2’s graphics. The game would try to auto-detect the settings appropriate for your hardware, however, you would definitely want to tweak things yourself afterward. The Quality Preset slider might seem to be a good idea at first, however, it has about 21 notches and your computer’s “balanced” settings most of the time would be different than the testing computer’s “balanced” settings.

Overall, you would need more than 2 or 3 GB graphics card, as the 2 GB would be limited to 1080p low and the 3 GB would only be a little better. If you have an older GPU with lower than 2GB of VRAM, you probably would be locked in whichever settings the game decided it should be.

Optimization Guide

The best way to configure Red Dead 2 is to do it manually. The first thing that you need to do is set the “Quality Preset Level” to a minimum. Between Vulkan API and DX12, you can pick whatever you want, but due to Vulkan API being the default, Rockstar is focusing on patching it first. You should test both API on your system just to see which has better performance.

The default settings on a 1080p display should work in most situations, prove that you can at least reach the minimum system requirements for the game. And if you can surpass the requirements a little with a GTX 1060 or RX 570 or anything with more than 4GB VRAM, a stable FPS of 30-60 should be attainable.

Graphics Settings In Rdr 2
The majority of settings in Red Dead 2's PC version do not cause any noticeable dip in system consumption

In Red Dead 2’s Graphics settings, there are about forty different options to tinker with. After you have set the slider to the minimum, you need to open the Advanced Graphics Settings to get everything in there down to the minimum as well. Test the game. After that, do the opposite by setting the graphics to the maximum possible that your computer can handle (with MSAA off) then test. The results and their differences would be a factor in calculating what setting you should be at for the best experience. The game in this article was tested on an RTX 2060 and RX 5700.

A lot of the settings only cause a minor dip in framerates. To improve your FPS, Reflection Quality and Volumetrics Quality are what you should on the lookout for. They are usually the cause of unstable framerates and random dip so if you are having problems, you should turn those options down first. Shadow Quality, Global Illumination Quality, Texture Quality, and Screen Space Ambient Occlusion are also factors and might provide a boost in performance if they are lowered down. However, if you have a GPU with 4GB or more VRAM, it is best to leave them at Ultra or at least High, as lower resolution textures look very bad – they would definitely affect your gaming experience. SSAO should also be turned to medium or higher if your PC can handle it.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Pc Specifications
System Requirements for the PC version of Red Dead 2

About advanced settings that can reduce your performance, MSAA is most of the time the culprit. Just turning on 4x MSAA would cause at least a 25% reduction in framerate. You should just stick to TAA here if your computer cannot handle 4x MSAA very well, as it generally looks almost the same, but TAA only causes like one percent dip. MSAA is pretty much an option for higher ends computers in the future, as higher MSAA settings are even worse than this.

Amongst other options, Parallax Occlusion Mapping Quality at Ultra and Reflection 4x MSAA can cause about 5 percent drop in fps each, if you are having minor problems and just need a little extra boost, getting these down a little is generally preferred. Depending on the GPU you are using, Tree and Grass LOD settings and Soft Shadows at max can also cause some minor quality dips. However, these options would make the environment around you like trees and grasses look nicer – it is recommended to tank this for a better gaming experience.

The remaining unmentioned settings are mostly fluff, as they only caused minor dips in performance. They did add up of course if you just get them all to the maximum value of course, but individually they don’t matter much in the grand scheme of things. If you want to crank out as much frame rate as possible, setting all those options to low or off might be the right thing to do. They won’t affect the quality much, as Texture Quality, Anti Aliasing and Shadows are the major factors in making the game look presentable.

We hope this guide would help you get your copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 to run properly on your system. Please check this post out for the system requirements of Red Dead 2's PC version. The Steam version of Red Dead Redemption will be released on Steam in December, most likely during the holiday.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on PC via Epic Games Store and Rockstar's Digital games store, with a Steam version coming this December.]]>

A few days ago, the long-awaited PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 has arrived. However, it seems that the game has had a rough launch, with a lot of performance problems. I also got a chance to get my hands on the game, and from what I've experienced, it saddens me to says that the PC-port of this game is a big mess. The game itself is great, but this port is not.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Fan Art 4k B6 3840x2400
A great game, but the PC version have too many problems

According to many who have pre-ordered the game, just to download and install the game from the Rockstar Games Launcher is a chore - when the download getting interrupted randomly for a bunch of time. As for me, during the release day, I've let the game download overnight, only wake up in the morning and see the download bar stops at 8GB downloaded. 8/112.5 GB, which is less than 10% of the game size - along with a notification box from Rockstar Games Launcher asking me to resume downloading. After some random pauses, I've finally completed the download - after a day.

However, the pains continued.

The crashes happen more frequently with multi-monitor setups

While some players have reported that the game randomly crashed many times while they are playing the game, with a generic error message without any error code: “Red Dead Redemption 2 has exited unexpectedly,” I've only encountered the crash once. However, as for me, the game stuttering so bad that it's almost unplayable.

The stuttering happens at the interval of a few minutes, and it freezes the game for a few seconds. It happens during both gameplay and cutscenes - which is understandable, as the cutscene of this game is rendered in real-time. And it even happens more frequently when I access the photo mode of the game. Installing the game to the SSD instead of HDD doesn't help, either.

Red Dead Redemption 2 A True Free World Doesnt Nee
I only want to play the game without problems

Many people also reported the stuttering problems, and their guess is because of the game's bug that led to CPU usage spiked to 100% during the freeze - which I myself has also experienced. Some blame the game's graphics API for this - as switching from Vulkan to DX12 solves the problems. However, I'm using the DX12 and still suffered from the stuttering, so the API might not be the reason for this.

Back on Wednesday, Rockstar Game has released a patch both for the launcher and the game, and my guess is to fix the downloading problems for the launcher. As for the game, though, the patch notes only mentioned about fixing the random crash issues - but according to some players, they still encountered those random crashes after the patch. The reason for it might due to the conflict with some anti-virus software - and as of now, Rockstar's support page still recommending players to disable their anti-virus software while playing the game to avoid crashes. Of course, this solution is not ideal at all, being more like a workaround than a solution.

Red Dead Redemption 2 A True Free World Doesnt Nee

And worse, some players even reported that the update only makes the game run worse, and not fixing any problems.

However, as of now, I'll have to keep my hype for the game in check, until Rockstar fix all the problem so that I can actually enjoy the game without crashes or stutters.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on PC via Epic Games Store and Rockstar's Digital games store, with a Steam version coming this December.

Rockstar is currently offering amazing bounties for people who could point out bugs and vulnerabilities in their games.]]>

In the past, a lot of people have been banned from playing in Grand Theft Auto Online for cheating, despite no hack and cheat actions actually took place. Players have been calling out Rockstar for this, branding the detection system as “false positive”. Rockstar doesn’t believe those players, however, as they are challenging people to prove that the system is wrong. The prize money for “successfully recreate a way to trigger an incorrect ban from the system in GTA Online” is $10,000 – about 7 lakh.

Red Dead 2's Arrival to PC was a rocky one

According to a related website named HackerOne, this kind of bounty was already created a year ago for just GTA Online, and it has been running for a while since 2016. However, after the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC, Rockstar has decided to expand the program so that it could cover a wider variety of their games and software. The new program will accept bugs and vulnerability reports on a wider scale, in most of their online games, not just GTA online. Currently, the program supports GTA 5/Online, Red Dead 2/Red Dead Online plus its companion app.

You would have to get to HackerOne to register for this program

It’s not that simple to join this program, however, as you would have to register in Rockstar’s private bounty program prior. There are some fairly strict rules about what to report so you would have to be careful. The minimum bounty for an issue is $150, however, it goes up based on the scale, complexity, and severity of the potential vulnerability. The top researcher on the list has been scoring multiple rewards ranging from $250 to $1k last year.

Finding bugs and vulnerability in systems is also a job that could yield amazing prizes

Many companies are doing this bug bounty program, not just Rockstar. Valve distributed about $840,000 last year for bug reports of Steam and other games made by them such as CSGO, Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2. Furthermore, the Incorrect Ban Bounty program of GTA Online is still active with the same prize money.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on PC via Rockstar and Epic Game Store, while the Steam version of the game will come in December.]]>

After a year of waiting, Red Dead Redemption 2 has finally come to PC, with a lot of changes comparing to the console version. It's no exaggeration to say that the PC version of this game should be considered as the "definitive version" of Red Dead Redemption 2 - with better graphics settings, along with some of the enhancements in the story mode. And today, let's take a look at all the differences between the PC and the Console version of the game.

First, let take a look at a comparison video between the versions:

Now, let's talk about all the new features in the game options. Along with the improvements in the game's graphics, the game's settings also feature more things: like 4K resolution options, HDR toggle, support for multi-monitor setups and 21:9 widescreens. Also, the game supported up to 144Hz refresh rate, with the game's FPS got uncapped.

Next, are the changes in the game's content - the PC version features 3 brand-new Bounty Hunter Missions, 2 new Hideouts in Gaptooth Breach and Solomon’s Folly, as well as 2 new Treasure Maps in Landmarks of Riches and The Elemental Trail. There are also 4 brand-new weapons in your arsenal: M1899 Pistol, Evans Repeater, High Roller Revolver, and Le Mat Revolver. Along with that is a new mission named “To The Ends of the Earth” for you to try on.

With all those new content that got added to the game, it seems that Rockstar really wants to go big with this PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2. However, it seems that the game has had a rough launch, with a lot of performance problems. I also got a chance to get my hands on the game, and from what I've experienced, it saddens me to says that the PC-port of this game is a big mess. The game itself is great, but this port is not.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on PC via Rockstar and Epic Game Store, while the Steam version of the game will come in December.

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version will be available on November 5th, which is 4 days from now.]]>

After a full year of rumors, teases, and leaks, Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version is officially coming early next week (In just 4 days, to be precise). The game, back when it was released on consoles, was praised by both gamers and critics about the beautiful graphics and details. Because of this reason, many have high expectations for the PC version - the game was really beautiful on consoles - so it will undoubtedly be even better when got ported to a powerful platform like PCs.

Your journey to the wild, wild West on PC is coming soon

And it seems that Red Dead Redemption 2 fans will not be disappointed, especially when a new launch trailer of the game has been released earlier today - and it looks really good. You can see the trailer on the video below:

While it seems to be a weird choice for the studio to show-off Guarma island in the trailer - as it's a big spoiler for a plot point in the game - the target audience that this new launch trailer aimed at are those who have known about the console version. The launch trailer meant to let gamers make some comparison between the graphics of the consoles and PC versions - so you can see how gorgeous the PC port of Red Dead Redemption 2 is.

Of course, the spectacular graphics of the game came with a price - that the total HDD requirement for this game is a massive 150GBs. That's to be expected though, especially when the game features 4K resolution textures, as well as uncompressed models and sound.

You can pre-purchase and pre-load the game starting from now - and I suggested that you should do it - given the sheer massive size of the game that will take a while to download, even if you have a great internet connection. Along with that, you will receive a gift of 50 gold bars that are available to use on Red Dead Online and a new horse.

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version will be available on November 5th, which is 4 days from now.

Rockstar has released the first trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC. It’s about time to take a look at the stunning Wild West world again, but with enhanced graphics this time.]]>

Red Dead Redemption 2 came out last year on PS4 and Xbox One, bringing to players a hell of an adventure into the Wild West. But it isn’t until a year later that PC die-hards can experience the masterpiece on their favorite platform. Now, as the first trailer for the PC version is released, it seems that it is worth the wait.

The trailer only lasts for a minute, but it features lots of graphical enhancements. Rockstar has kept its promise: multiple things will be improved besides the 4K resolution support. From what we can see in the trailer, many effects like global illumination and ambient occlusion are properly remade, creating more realistic lighting. The contrast is also improved, with improved reflections and higher resolution shadows, as the PC version now supports HDR. The draw distance is increased. The frame rate is unlocked. Rockstar also adds and remakes many textures for trees, grass, fur, etc. This version also supports multi-monitoring and ultra-wide aspect ratio. With all these changes coming into play this time, the adventure into the Wild West would be very mesmerizing for the PC players this time.

The PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be released very soon. Get in the mood by playing some of the following Western games.]]>

Red Dead Redemption 2’s release date is confirmed: The game is coming to PC on the Rockstar launcher on November 5. This is great news to those who have waited for months for the game’s PC version, after wonderful console launch.

While waiting, you might want to check out some of the games with the same western theme. In this list below, we have collected some of the best western on PC

12 is Better Than 6

12 Is Better Than 6 Review Header
The unique art style of this game, with only 3 colors, black, white, and red

This weirdly named shooter is pretty similar to Hotline Miami, however, the gameplay is more focused on saving ammunition, carefully aiming, and stealth. Shooting is pretty clunky, as you have to move your hand with the right button while fire using the left, with R as the, reload hotkey. If you run out of bullets mid-fight, your only choice is to rush out of with a knife. This game has been very successful in recreating the rhythm of a wild west fight gone south, in which everyone is attacking at each other in the street or a barn.

Hunt: Showdown

Apps 53535 13561000893599851 40670050 Ed69 4822 9b
In this game, you will play as bounty hunters in the land filled with strange monstrosities

Hunt: Showdown is a product of Crytek, with the usual settings of the wild west twisted into darkness. The game is a part competitive shooter, part survival with a horror theme in a western backdrop. You would play as a bounty hunter in a twisted version of the west, which has zombies and giant spiders. The character design and weapons are very appropriate for the setting in the 1800s Louisianna.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

Apps 64045 64189467152941429 5fd694d9 0e22 49ca A8
Part of the Best Western game series before red dead, Bound is Blood is rather dated, however, you can still have a lot of fun with it

The best Call of Juarez amongst the three, Call of Duty is an Action-Adventure game with RPG elements. It is not nearly as good as Red Dead, however, the game would serve well if you are just looking for some wild west fun actions. Quests are rather simple, as you just go to the objective marker and shoot everyone on the way. The game is pretty much perfect if you do not want to use your brain much and just want a bit of fun.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

Apps 25328 70730244948540944 8535fe2a A198 4b3e 89
Gunslinger is focused more on the combat than the western setting

Gunslinger is rather different from other Call of Juarez games, as it is an arcade-style cover shooter. You would duck inside covers and shoot at your enemies, with bonus points assigned for every headshot and combo. The game is set in a comic-book style of the west, with the protag pursuing the frontier’s most dangerous outlaws.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath

Oddworld Strangers Wrath Copertina
Oddworld is a fictional wild west setting in another planet, with everyone being monsters

Oddworld is just as weird as its name implies. The usual western setting was twisted into comedy and madness, with the series’ own unique brand of comedy. The world is filled with the usual dusty shantytowns, populated with anthropomorphized redneck chickens. The protagonist is a bounty hunter, and his job is to catch the target dead or alive – very similar to an Eastwood movie. The best part of this game, however, is the strange guns that use living ammo. Stunkz would send your enemies into vomiting fits, Stinbees would chase your targets, and Chippunks would distract them by constantly making noises. Stranger’s Wrath is not your usual Western settings, but sometimes it would have to do.

A Fistful of Gun

Maxresdefault 1
Being a coop top-down shooter, this game is best playing with other people

In this game, you would get to choose between eleven characters, each with their own unique control scheme and attack patterns and shoot your way out in the colorful landscape of the west. Some characters would require a gamepad to work properly – while some can only be bound to mouse controls. The game has both local multiplayer and online coop, for the maximum amount of jolly cooperation. You can gather a team to fight against other teams or play solo in a free-for-all battle royale.

Luckslinger

Title
Being a side scroller instead of a shooter, this game is rather unique in its own way

A western-themed side scroller, with an amazing soundtrack and the creative “luck” system. You can collect and store luck while playing – with a decent amount of luck stored, fortunate events would happen, such as a shot missing you or a platform appear out of nowhere to save you from a failed leap. As the usual side scroller goes, Luckslinger requires you to have the patience of a Mega Man player, in which you would have to redo stuff over and over until it works.

Westerado: Double Barreled

Apps 23566 71172010082795076 Fc72e5be 369c 47cf 97
A roguelike pixel game in the wild west

Westerado is a pixelated open-world Western RPG with plenty of gunslinging to do. There are combat, exploration, side missions, expertly weaved into a tale of revenge. As you track down the man who murdered your family through various towns, you would be able to piece together a general portrait of him, through interrogations and investigations. As Westerado is a rogue-like, every time you start a new adventure, the enemy you have to hunt would be re-rolled again so each playthrough would be a unique experience.

Hard West

7da5555ec609dfb0096f0b941019c03b074453f9
An XCOM style tactical RPG, with you escorting a band of settlers through a land filled with dangers

Hard West is a turn-based strategy game in which you would be given control of a party of four, doing objectives in a series of tactical maps. The setting of Hard West is a twist to the usual western genre: demons, arcane rituals, and satanic cults are swarming Western America. Your job is to protect a group of settlers so that they can establish some measure of civilization amongst the chaos.

Outlaws

Maxresdefault
Old but gold, Outlaws is one of the earliest western-themed video game

Outlaws is the only western FPS game LucasArts ever released. It is rather dated, built on the 1997 engine of Star Wars: Dark Forces. The protagonist is a retired U.S. Marshall, who returns home only to find his wife dying and his daughter missing. After that, he embarks on a roaring rampage of revenge. The game generally has good level and enemy designs, a fantastic soundtrack, and decent shooting mechanics for the 90s.
